RAH RAH Announce headline tour in Western Canada & Europe + video for “The Poet’s Dead” premiering today

“The Poet’s Dead, the Regina sextet’s third full-length, is the band at its best. It’s filled with natural hooks, a charming lightness … and possesses the confidence of a band that’s mastered its craft.” – The Grid

Regina, SK’s beloved indie-rock collective, RAH RAH announce select headline dates in Western Canada, as well as a run of European dates set for early this year. The group continues to ride the wave of their 2012 released, critically acclaimed and widely decorated album, “The Poet’s Dead” (Hidden Pony Records).  In late 2013, Rah Rah won “Independent Album of the Year” at the Western Canadian Music Awards. “The Poet’s Dead” was also long listed for the coveted Polaris Music Prize last year. SAID THE WHALE ANNOUNCE hawaiii NEW ALBUM FOR RELEASE SEPTEMBER 17, 2013

SAID THE WHALE confirm their new studio album, hawaiii will be released on September 17, 2013. Intentionally using a lower-case ‘h’ and ending in a trifecta of ‘i’s’ the Vancouver-based quintet and 2011 JUNO Award winners for New Group Of The Year wanted to put some distance and distinction between the sun-filled U.S. State, so far from their Vancouver, BC home base.

The album title also mirrors the different way Said The Whale assembled this new album. Singer/songwriter Tyler Bancroft noted: “Instead of booking a solid block of time to record the entire album, we did it in short bursts over a period of six months. The time in between sessions allowed us to reflect on what we’d recorded, to tour and road-test some of the songs, and to continue writing.”
